Crytek has released a brand new trailer for Crysis 3, and like the Dishonored trailer released this morning, it's totally interactive, allowing you to make choices to see how things play out.

Weird coincidences aside, the Crysis 3 trailer is really good and the game looks alarmingly gorgeous. The interactivity in the trailer is great, and definitely keeps you engaged more than a standard gameplay demo would, but we could really only focus on one thing here - this was captured from pre-alpha footage. Not beta, not alpha...pre alpha testing.

We don't even know what comes before alpha testing, but if Crytek continues to put any effort at all in polishing Crysis 3 before the game hits shelves in Spring of 2013, the game will likely push modern PC's to their limit and stretch the boundaries of what consoles can do graphically.

Four brand new images of Crysis 3 have leaked this morning, appearing on the blog of Pierre-Yves Donzallaz, a senior lighting artist at Crytek who has since removed the images.

The new screenshots are primarily environmental shots, but with any Crysis game, that is not a bad thing. Crysis 3 looks gorgeous, and all of the screenshots that we've seen have been mightily impressive. The game takes place in New York City, but not as you may recognize it. The city has been encased in a massive Nanodome, called the Liberty Dome, that has turned the city into something of an urban jungle. Cracked city streets mingle with overgrown foliage, and humid jungles have grown up between buildings.

A brand new CryEngine 3 mod has surfaced by the name of Venerance: Sigma Octanus IV, or more simply as just Venerance.

Any Crysis mod, powered by CryEngine 3, is going to get us excited but Venerance takes things to a totally new level. The singleplayer Crysis 2 total-conversion mod aims to merge the worlds of Halo and Crysis in one amazing experience. If you've followed Microsoft's Halo franchise over the past decade, you'll know that video games are only one medium that is used to tell the story. Another popular Halo medium is literature, and Venerance takes its inspiration from 'The Fall of Reach', a Halo novel by Eric Nylund.

Specifically, players in Venerance will be able to live out the events of chapters 19 through 22 in Nylund's novel. The team working on Venerance will be translating the on-ground events from The Fall of Reach into a playable game, filling in any gaps in lore with their own familiarity in Halo canon.

While Crysis 3 might not launch until Spring of 2013, that isn't stopping Crytek from promoting the game already, getting us pumped up pretty far in advance.

The guys just released a brand new batch of screenshots for the game which show off some of the environments that Crytek is building in New York City, as well as some nice new shots of Prophet, Crysis 3's protagonist. In the game, Prophet returns to New York City to find it has been encased inside a giant Nanodome, known as the Liberty Dome. CELL is saying that the Dome is for the cities good, but Prophet knows better. The Ceph alien threat is more real than ever, and Prophet has taken it upon himself to eradicate each and every one to bring true liberty back to New York City.

The Liberty Dome is home to seven distinct environments, known as the Seven Wonders. Prophet will battle the Ceph as well as human enemies who are attacking inside the dome.

It is no surprise to say that Crysis 3 is going to be a gorgeous game. CryEngine 3 and the passionate team at Crytek would stand for nothing less. Just the same, however, it's great to see some concept art to reaffirm that fact.

The original Crysis became synonymous with high-powered PC gaming. "Sure, you can play Call of Duty on ultra settings...but can it run Crysis?" The tropical environments in the game were nothing short of breathtaking. When Crysis 2 came along, we were once again impressed with the atmosphere - this time in the form of a crumbling New York City. In Crysis 3, we're getting the best of both previous games. New York City has been encased in a Nanodome, causing the streets and buildings to be overrun with tropical vegetation (as seen in the artwork above).

As promised last week, Electronic Arts and Crytek have given us our first taste of Crysis 3 gameplay in a brand new trailer released this morning.

The trailer, seen above, shows a bit of what players can expect when Crysis 3 ships in Spring of 2013. Prophet returns to New York in Crysis 3, only to find the city encapsulated by a giant Nanodome, courtesy of the malicious CELL Corporation. As we speculated last week, the Ceph alien threat is not vanquished but is rather running rampant inside the Nanodome. Prophet's only option is to hunt them down, one by one, and take back New York City.

We get a look at some new gameplay elements as well as the gorgeous environments that we've come to expect from Crytek and their stellar CryEngine3 game engine. Prophet wields a host of weapons in this trailer, from the composite bow we've seen a few times already to assault rifles, light machine guns and an explosives launcher. The stealth abilities of Prophet's Nanosuit haven't gone anywhere, as we can see him activate Stealth Mode and take out a Ceph ground soldier with a lethal knife takedown.

Crytek has officially released a teaser trailer for their upcoming FPS Crysis 3. The trailer is short and sweet, but Crytek has promised more to come on April 24th!

The trailer, courtesy of Gametrailers.com, features footage of Crysis 3 protagonist Prophet and the soon-to-be-iconic composite bow as well as some environments that we will encounter in the game. As the shot is fired from Prophet's bow, we get a glimpse of some of the details 3 that we first heard about when EA and Crytek announced the game earlier this week. Specifically, we can see some really good footage of the nanodome that the CELL Corporation has installed over New York City. The Liberty Dome looks about as we would imagine a Nanodome to look like, with the trademark hexagonal design work.
