Earlier this morning, Spiral Game Studios unleashed their brand new first-person shooter, Orion: Dino Beatdown unto Steam. We've spent the day destroying fending off hoards of dinosaurs and being ripped into the sky by pesky pterodactyls and we're ready to give you some initial feedback on the game.

Orion: Dino Beatdown is more than a novel concept, let's get that out of the way. Human vs Dinosaur games have been done before and all seem to be a bit lacking, but Orion truly is a full featured game that makes use of a great concept. Dinosaurs are attacking and you and a squad of four other survivors must step up and survive for as long as possible.

To do so, Spiral Game Studios is dishing out a plentiful array of weapons and vehicles, as well as a player customization system that allows you to purchase in-match perks and upgrades for your character. In each match, players are tasked with surviving hordes of dinosaurs who are bent on destroying your power generators as well as ripping you to bits. Unfortunately, you need those power generators as they provide you with the ability to upgrade your weapons, spawn new vehicles and purchase player ability upgrades.

Spiral Game Studios has launched their brand new first-person shooter Orion: Dino Beatdown on Steam, bringing the human vs dinosaur action to a new level.

Orion: Dino Beatdown is much more than a novel concept, however. The game features a full open-world, survival game in which up to five players must cooperate to survive the dinosaur threat. Players will be able to make use of a wide array of weapons including machine guns, laser rifles, shotguns and rocket launchers as well as a huge armada of vehicles. Available vehicles in Orion: Dino Beatdown include Buggies, Mechs, Tanks, VTOL's and even Hover Bikes. As you progress in each match, you're able to earn credits which can be spent on purchasing new weapons and vehicles to help your team against the dino horde.

Most shooter fans would agree that most FPS games have a distinct lack of dinosaurs. Orion: Dino Beatdown, however, has an excess of the prehistoric monsters and we mean that in the best way possible.

Spiral Game Studios has released a brand new video documentary - or vid doc - discussing the player classes in their upcoming humans vs dinosaurs FPS. The vid doc also discusses the three types of player shops that will be available in the game. The first of these shops is the Barracks, this is where you will spawn at and inventory stations inside will allow you to upgrade player abilities and perks.
