Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Perks List

What Are Perks?

If you're brand new to Call of Duty, you have a lot to look forward to - and a lot to learn. From perks to scorestreak rewards to Create a Class, we'll help you learn the basics!

Think of Perks as player-modifiers. In Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Perks modify the way your player performs on the battlefield. From increasing your sprint distance to making you invisible to enemy radar, Perks are a vital part of your Create a Class experience. Perks are laid out in a tiered system, with players able to choose one Perk from each tier (unless you get into Wildcards - but that's a topic for a different guide).

Creating the perfect class ultimately starts with Perks, and understanding how you want to play the game. Everyone experiences Call of Duty in their own unique way, and the game inherently offers this flexibility. Here are a few sample Perk selections to give you an idea of how setting up Perks to complement each other can give you an edge on the battlefield.

Stealth

  • Ghost
  • Cold Blooded
  • Dead Silence

All of these perks complement each other in that they help you stay off the enemy's radar, both physically and metaphorically speaking. Using these perks together will help you avoid being painted on the minimap by enemy UAV, prevent you from being spotted by Target Finder scopes and other enemy weapons and air support and will make your footsteps more silent.

Run 'n' Gun

  • Flak Jacket
  • Toughness
  • Extreme Conditioning

With these perks, players will be able to sprint for longer durations into battles heedless of most explosives, thanks to Extreme Conditioning and Flak Jacket. Plus, thanks to Toughness, they will flinch less when coming under fire, enabling them to get a few accurate rounds into their target before going down, potentially resulting in a kill or at least an assist.

However you choose to set up your perks, it is definitely best to put some thought into your choices. Many perks complement each other well, while other combinations are less compatible. Above all else, have fun!
