DICE has announced a major update for Battlefield 3 across all platforms which aims to fix a few known issues and bring increased functionality to the game.
The full changelog is massive, but some of the highlights in this free game update include a fix for the M26 shotgun glitch, slightly reduced suppression fire effects, colorblind support on console and improved F35 Fighter Jet performance.
The M26 bug is one we're glad to see the end of, as its pretty frustrating losing engagements to someone exploiting a known glitch in the game. If you're not familiar with the bug, basically when the M26 Shotgun is mounted under certain assault rifles, it ends up firing assault rifle bullets rather than the appropriate shotgun ammunition. Obvious, this makes the weapon very overpowered and the community quickly found out that they could exploit that to personal gain.
The colorblind support on console is also nice for folks who have been consistently teamkilling because the colors denoting player teams bled together. When you get the update in June, be sure to turn on Colorblind Support in the Options menu.
Getting the update is a breeze as it will automatically begin updating on all platforms, before you can get online and start playing. Check out the full changelog over at http://blogs.battlefield.com/ and join us in the forums to discuss Battlefield 3!
