David Goldfarb, Lead Designer on Battlefield 3, Leaves DICE After 5 Years

David Goldfarb, perhaps better known as @locust9 on Twitter, has announced that after 5 years and 4 games, he is leaving EA DICE. Announcing the move on Twitter, Goldfarb said, "5 years, 4 games. Grateful to have worked with such awesome people on awesome games. Farewell + Onward."

Goldfarb has spent the majority of the last five years working on Battlefield titles. His work at DICE included...

Battlefield 3 - Lead Designer and Lead Writer
Battlefield Bad Company 2 -- Lead Designer and Lead Writer
Battlefield Bad Company -- Closer/Senior Designer
Mirror's Edge -- Closer/Narrative Designer

We're not sure where he will end up, but doubtless Mr. Goldfarb's talents will not go to waste. Perhaps another studio will be lucky enough to nab him up or, who knows, he may go on to form one of his own? Speaking to Joystiq, David said, "I was ready to move onto new things and do something different."

Either way, we thank David for his time spent developing some of our favorite games from the last few years.

Best wishes to you in the future, sir!
