Battlefield 3

Battlefield 3 Armored Kill Gameplay Trailer

With the release of the trailer above, DICE has given us our first look at the next DLC expansion for Battlefield 3, Armored Kill.

The Armored Kill DLC add-on is scheduled to go live in September and focuses on vehicular gameplay and sprawling maps, designed for using the new vehicles. Included in the DLC is a map called Bandar Desert, which is being billed as the largest map in Battlefield history. You can get a look at the sands of the Bandar Desert in the trailer above. Armored Kill also includes five new vehicles to use as well as a brand new game mode called Tank Superiority.

Tank Superiority will feature heavy armor battling it out to control points on a map. Check out the trailer above and let us know what you think of Armored Kill in the comments.

I'm concerned the soflam is going to make this far less epic than it could be.

In my opinion the artillery system is probably gonna have multiple weapon types, and this was probably just the unguided munitions. The guided munitions though, that's gonna be fun.

    Looks awesome!

How can you say that something looks fun when its existence is based purely on your un-founded assumption? Especially when a dumbed down simplified system is right up BF3's alley.

Because they announced that the new vehicles would come with a total of 20 unlocks.

20 unlocks is too much for the tank killers, as IFVs only have 12, and that's a lot for a vehicle. So I can definitely see the fact they would give unlocks to the MRLS vehicles. They wouldn't just make an attack vehicle with no unlocks, especially if it's for both sides. Transport vehicles don't get unlocks, sure. But this is a rocket/combat vehicle. The MRLS is a perfect contender, being able to load multiple types of ammunition, and it's simply illogical to not add them if you would give multiple ammunition to tanks.

No, it wasn't an unfounded assumption, it was logic rather than pure pessimism.

I can see the MRLS having the guided rocket of helicopters, guided missile of chopper gunner, and TV missile. All of those are typical of the MRLS systems used today, and it wouldn't waste much of DICE's time to add if they're that 'lazy'.

Its VERY easy to assume that all of the unlocks for the MLRS system will be defensive or ammo CAP unlocks, not ammo TYPE. There is no logic in this assesment of yours. I do not wish to be rude, but to say that one can draw a logical conclusion like yours defies the definition of logic. Logic would have us assume that EA/dice will remain on the same course that they have been on since the beginning of BF3 and create a system that is easy enough for a child to use, simple enough to be done so with out the use of teamwork, and plain enough as to leave out a need for large balancing control. EA/Dice WILL be lazy on this and you can mark my words on it. Its what they have been doing from day one and there is NO REASON to assume other wise.

I am openly pessimistic about EA and their ability to work FOR the customer. I am pesimistic because of the history that EA/Dice has presented than the precident that they have set. My question to you would be: What inspires your faith in them?

The artillary system is dumbed down to the point of it looking like an M320 on wheels, damn.

EA is decline gentleman, they are trying to compete against cod and not doing a good job. lol
Anyway i cant wait for this dlc. Finally a snow map. Its be way better than Close quarters. Its look like Dice headed to right direction for now. I still have hope.

Well, it looks "better" than previous maps. Screen shots of the MLRS and AC-130 confirm that this DLC will be a POS extension of the same game though. Its very sad that EA/dice is using the trailer of their 3rd DLC (out of 21) to advertise for the next game. Can anyone say COD?

BF has NEVER been a competitor of COD. EVER. It competed with CS back in the days of 1942 but that was it. Whomever decided that BF was now a contender for COD should be immediately removed from the company and embarrassed. Whomever decided that the best way to compete with COD was to BECOME COD needs to be banished from making video games altogether.

It's a shame that Battlefield 4 is being rushed.  BF3 was released prematurely in order to release before MW3, so i thought there could maybe be hope for BF4.  But now with the announcement of BF4 beta in 2013, all my hope is lost.  BF4 will be mostly the same as BF3, with some minor tweaks.  Unfortunately EA has taken the Activision route with the BF series and will be launching games annually.  Now, I'm hoping for Arma3 to deliver on what I've been missing since Project Reality on BF2.

My friend said: "There is not 2 words that can describe how epic that video was."

    I said: "Yea there is. The 2 words are:   B A T T L E  -  F I E L D  "

  • #1 afk_15

Man I hope consoles get a fair share of this!

All they need to do is take the best locations from the PC maps like the highway and buildings in the background at 0:43 in the video could be where the console version of Armored kills Bandar Desert could be focused on instead of making it to big and try fitting a large portion. Still keep the map big just not to big. Maybe Kharg Island sized.

Either way! I want Armored kill for them quad bikes and Vehicle action!
