Borderlands 2 is just around the corner and the Gearbox Software team is on-hand at Gamescom in Germany, showing off the game and releasing a batch of screenshots for the folks who couldn't make it to Cologne.
All told, there are over a dozen new screenshots to be had. Most of the imagery comes in the form of character shots, but there are some good looks at Borderlands 2's diverse environments and even some shots of the UI and customization options in the game.
In addition to the new screenshots, Borderlands 2 Producer Randy Varnell has pledged to get the Mechromancer player class out with as much haste as possible. The team had previously said they would like to release the Mechromancer DLC around 30 to 60 days post-launch, but Varnell is confident that his team can do better, saying simply, 'We're going to beat that estimate.'
