Above you will find the latest teaser image released in the viral marketing campaign that has been brewing for the last week in the Call of Duty universe to promote Black Ops 2.
The image appears to be showing a UAV Recon Plane, although the model doesn't look familiar. Over in the bottom right hand corner of the image you can see what appears to be one of the four propellers on the Quadrotor Drone. This could be suggesting that the game will have a UAV Recon killstreak reward but announcing that would be akin to announcing that the game will feature guns. UAV Recon is synonymous with Call of Duty killstreak rewards, it doesn't necessarily merit an announcement so we're thinking the real story here is the model of that aircraft.
Not being aircraft wizards, we aren't sure if this is perhaps a near-future model that would lend credence to the claims that Black Ops 2 will take place in such a setting?
We know that the Quadrotor Drone doesn't exist with modern tech but FPSRussia teased in his video that it would be available in, say, ten or fifteen years. That, of course, raises the question; will Black Ops 2 take place in ten or fifteen years in the future? That would land us around 2030 - 2035.
We're open to discussion, just throw your thoughts into the mix in the comments below!
Update: A recolored, cleaned up version of the image has been brought to us by our resident photo maestro Nikoli. As he points out, this could also be a missile launching AGM UAV, rather than purely used for recon. Check it out below...
