Trent Reznor, best known for his work as the frontman of Nine Inch Nails, has signed on to work with Treyarch on Call of Duty: Black Ops II's main theme.
Reznor is no stranger to video game scoring, indeed he is no stranger to FPS games specifically. In 1996, Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails composed the original music in id Software's Quake. Reuniting with id Software in 2003, Reznor began work on designing the audio for DOOM 3 but that project would ultimately fall through.
Jumping back into the video game music scene, Reznor has confirmed to USA Today that he is composing the main theme for Black Ops II.
According to the USA Today story, the main theme is already completed, so hopefully we will get to hear it before the game hits shelves in November. Stay tuned!
