Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

Black Ops 2 Prestige and Hardened Editions Detailed?

It's become something of a tradition to see some pretty over the top special editions for games these days, and nobody does this better than Call of Duty and Activision.

Past releases have seen remote-controlled cars, night vision goggles and a ton of in-game bonuses. Typically, there will be three versions of the annual Call of Duty game. Standard, Hardened and Prestige Editions. Last year, Activision was pushing Call of Duty Elite pretty hard so there were only two versions of the game, with the Hardened Edition coming with a one-year subscription to Call of Duty Elite.

This year, however, it looks like the Prestige Edition is making a big comeback with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Revealed at the Gamestop Manager's Conference, going on right now, the Prestige Edition of Black Ops 2 will feature:

  • Remote-controled UAV Flyer (presumably modeled after the Quadrotor Drone).
  • Exclusive in-game upgrades.
  • Exclusive Zombie Maps.
  • Nuketown 2025.

On top of that, the whole deal comes packaged in a replica Care Package, which we're assuming you can then use to bring your lunch to work in.

The Hardened Edition is staying in the shadows for now, but if previous years are any indicator, it will feature everything except the Quadrotor Drone. No prices or official confirmation has been made on these, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
