Fans who were looking forward to seeing Nuketown 2025 in action were sorely disappointed when the first trailer for the Black Ops 2 pre-order map was released in late October. Thankfully, however, Treyarch has released a brand new video for the map, showing some actual gameplay footage, and all is right in the world.
We weren't sure what to expect with Nuketown 2025, but the map looks absolutely awesome. All of the 1950's-60's era design is still intact, and yet it has a very clear sense of being 'in the future'. The core design principles of the map are the same. Two buildings on either side of the (very small) map, with an expanse of space between them. This space still has vehicles that serve to create specific routes. The backyards are still there, with their camper-friendly fenced-in areas.
Everything we loved and hated about Nuketown remains the same, but it all has this great futuristic design concept behind it. Where Nuketown featured classic shingled roofs and cookie cutter houses, Nuketown 2025 has swooping, angled roofs and houses that wouldn't look out of place in an episode of The Jetsons.
Check it out in the video above, and be sure to pre-order the game if you want to experience Nuketown 2025 firsthand on November 13th!
