Modern Warfare 3 DLC Collection 2 is getting us pretty excited, between the new Spec Ops missions and Face Off mode, so we were happy to see this trailer show up in our inboxes this morning.
Raven Software, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games go behind the scenes on the design process that went into Face Off mode, the brand new play style coming to Modern Warfare 3 in the upcoming DLC Collection. Face Off mode, as you may remember, pits players in 1v1 or 2v2 battles. These battles take place on much smaller, tighter maps, so the combat is never more than a few seconds away. While we haven't played Face Off mode just yet, we're thinking the maps will be reminiscent of Shipment from Call of Duty 4, and we're sure you can remember the insane firefights on that map.
In the video preview above, Mark Rubin of Infinity Ward, Michael Condrey of Sledgehammer Games and Derek Racca of Raven Software, give us some insight on what went into the production of Face Off mode and the maps that you'll be playing on.
As for the distribution of this new content, it's going to work like this. On May 16th, two Face Off maps will be made available for free; Erosion and Aground. On May 22nd, two more maps will be made available; Lookout and Getaway. While all of this content will be hitting Xbox Live, the video didn't specify as to what will be made available for premium subscribers and what will be made available for non-premium Elite users.
Head on over to our Modern Warfare 3 Forums if you'd like to discuss the game, and be sure to check back with us, as we'll have video coverage of the new content next week!
