Valve Software Proves, Again, Why Mod Support is a Great Thing

Valve Software has, once again, proven that releasing mod support for your games is the right way to go. This doesn't just make sense from the standpoint of a fan, but from the standpoint of a developer and publisher, as well.

When Counter-Strike: Global Offensive launches next Tuesday, players will already have an excellent community mod to download. PlagueFest.com is ready to go with a Counter-Strike update for their popular Counter-Strike mod, Zombie Mod. Truth be told, the update is ready to go now if you're lucky enough to be a part of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive beta test.

It was important to us as we developed CS:GO to make sure it was as moddable and extensible as any CS game. So this is just one of many mods that will be available to CS:GO in the coming months. Are you actively developing a mod for CS:GO? Let us know.

Without their previous support of community-developed modifications, Valve would undoubtedly not be able to boast a popular, day one mod for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Check out PlagueFest.com for more information!

Problem with all this information is that as a old-new guy who started beta-testing CS:GO not 2 days ago, I'm not sure what this mod is and how to find out more about it. The link to PlagueFest is pretty much useless, since their search functionality isn't working as one would think it should.

A direct link to source (rather than a website which this was found on) would be really good. Especially for people who have no idea what Zombie Mod is for CS.
