DayZ Surpasses 800K Unique Users, 45K Concurrent

Dean 'Rocket' Hall, the man responsible for bringing the world DayZ, has announced some pretty staggering new numbers for the ARMA II mod.

Not even ten days ago, Hall announced that DayZ was seeing 22,000 concurrent players (people playing DayZ simultaneously) out of a total player base of 500,000 users. Now, just 8 days later, those numbers have skyrocketed. Announced on Twitter, DayZ is currently seeing 45,000 players concurrently during peak hours and 19,000 for off-peak times.

These numbers come from a total player base now over 800,000 strong. If those numbers seem amazing, that's because they are. Just look at these factoids, recently Tweeted by Hall...

Each second in DayZ... 35 zombies die, one player gets murdered, and 600km is walked by players. Every 3 seconds, a brand new player starts!

If you haven't picked up DayZ yet, you'll need to get set up with ARMA II: Combined Operations which is currently going for $23.99 on Steam.
