Here is my theory. It is a live broadcast from a hidden base somewhere around that area. It is broadcast a recording that is playing in the same room as the transmitter. It could be the infected personnel at the end of the recording. Or it could be Patient Zero himself. The locations could be rendezvou points for survivors from the areas surrounding the facilities, since they would get hit first by a outbreak originating form this facility. It could point to critical locations above the facility. If a outbreak was to occur, which would you choose? A small nuclear disaster or a zombie outbreak? I wouldn't even need to be nuclear, assuming the facility isn't too strong. Assuming the zombies came from there, it cant be. Blasts at strategic locations could take the entire facility down. The music could be interference, or it could be a zombie with a Walkman. It could be a whole new code to crack. The morose code is another matter. There seems to be 2 messages. The first is the automated "We are dead" message,and the end is marked by STOPMESSAGE. But there is more after that. It looks like a half finished message. Unable to quarantine subject change....... Change what? To me, this looks like someone tried to add to the message after quarantine broke. But why? If the containment broke, and no one could operate the radio, the automated message would go out. And I'm sure that their target audience would see the zombie Apocalypse when it happened. I would be more occupied with survival than trying to send a fruitless message. Unless I was already going to die. Or worse, turning into one of them. It could have been the staff member's last act of free will. When is said change, He could have been saying "changing". As in himself. Also, bullets seem pretty effective against the un-dead, so either a scientist got in the way and made everyone try to keep it alive as it was gnawing on their faces, or the facility was under-staffed to begin with. And how did containment break in the first place? Could Patient zero have escaped in transit? Finally, the groan at the end. Could patient zero, the oldest zombie, have mutated into something... else? Proof that zombies can evolve (or devolve) rapidly is the monkey zombie. Why dose it use it's arms to walk? What could have caused that?  And why is it groaning in the first place. I only heard that kind of groan when it aggroed. So what caught is's eye? A word of warning. If any of you do find a secret facility, watch your back. If it is mutated, who knows what to expect.

Yeah maybe... anyway for now even if all proofs tends to the fake, This story has taken DayZ at another level for me... In the woods at night I feel like in the STALKER: Clear Sky red forest..

Oh sorry. Miscounted the last 3 chords, and saw the first, and "second" and "third" ones. As for the off map deal, I have been screwing around with math to see if the chords might mean something else. Maybe a substitution? 1=a 2=b... But I found some weird combo that shows the same deer stands, but the second non deer stand chord in out in the water, slightly off map. Could just be I'm over thinking this.

Tried the first, daytime, 023 107, nothing appart a little tower like ones at military camps... in the middle of nowhere ? why ? investigated surroundings but nothing, not even a little zombie

btw, i find only 2 coords non-deer stand, the other being 039 108.. gonna check it tomorrow

Trucidek, try the second and third non-deer stand ones first. They spawn less zombies and you have a greater chance of getting through. Also, If it was a hoax, how could it happen in multiple servers unless there were multiple hackers. Also, one of the chords appears to be off the map... humm.......

As I've read lots on the subject, like a youtuber saying a hacker gave him a radio and he stood up at green mountain for 2 hours and nothing happened, but in an other hand, DadsBud112 saying he's gone on non-deer stands points and zombies were spawning... All this mess is wierd.

So, maybe it's just a fake fed by trolls...

Or it can be some "background element" made by Rocket, some kind of sneak-peek of what awaits us in future versions of DayZ... as he said, he would like to make underground facilities....

I will try to investigate some non-deer stands

The first line, "We are no longer alive," and the second line, "This message will play every hour if operators are no longer responsive," point out that the operators of whatever, are either dead, or not able to respond. It probably points to a secret government project that had hourly check-ins to see how things were going, and a check failed. The infected probably broke out and infected others, starting DayZ.

The roar is either a part of the recording, and could be a zombie destroying equipment or attacking the transmitter, (Unlikely because there is no other noise like a scream or struggle.), or the player encountering a zombie while recording.

I have gone to all of the non-deer stand chords, and every time I get close, it seems to spawn zombies as if I got close to a village. I always run away, or die if I try to get any closer. But I am currently working on a connect-the-dots sort of path, trying to see if they make a word or point to something.

As to the hoax aspect, I have never actually been to the radio tower, and have never looked to see if there is really a radio. And it would have seemed more legit if the recorder had put a video in of him actually finding the radio or listening to the recording.

I am going to get a group together to go and not only investigate the radio tower area, but all of the chords. I would prefer if you are well armed, but you dont have to be. And please dont worry about banditing, because I swear on my life I never have and never will. I am just intrested in the hacking/hoax possibility of this recording. The first exploration date is ser for September 25, and the second is November 15. The dates can be changed if nessecary.

I also think the "roaring" noise near the end is a zombie, but I'm not sure on that one.

Possibility of Green Mountain housing the experiment or the experiment being housed near/under Green Mountain. Will investigate map further to look for secret bases or something inside Green Mountain.

Not all of the deer stands. Anyways, you can assume from the last sentence in the morse code that the zombie infection was because of an experiment or something of the sort.

The piano tune at 5:07 is the beginning of Triage at Dawn as has been noted before. As for the coordinates, some but not all of them are deer stand coordinates. Some of them (appear to) lead to nothing. Perhaps if someone isn't busy trying not to die they can investigate the non-deer stand coordinates.

No, it's not haunted. There's no "ghostly" encounters at Green Mountain. Just an automatically-repeating message involving the infection. Rocket has stated that the zombies are infected humans, not the risen dead.

It is the co-ordinates of all the deer stands on the map.
