A couple months back, a mysterious radio transmission surfaced online, purportedly captured in the world of Dean 'Rocket' Hall's zombie mmo DayZ.
The radio transmission, which can be heard in the video above, is pretty creepy and features both map coordinates and messages in morse code. But is this real? Or is this an elaborate hoax cooked up by a DayZ player with too much free time on his hands?
The coordinates in the message lead you to various deer stands throughout Chernarus, where players can sometimes grab some pretty rare loot. Is this mysterious message just a chance for the haunted spirits of Green Mountain to hook players up with awesome gear? The transmission also consists of a haunted piano tune and some morse code. When decoded, the morse code says:
We are no longer alive STOP This message will play every hour if operators are no longer responsive STOPMESSAGE Unable to quarantine subject change STOPMESSAGE
So, what do you make of this radio transmission? Many in the community are of the opinion that the DayZ user who posted this to to DayZ forums was simply an elaborate troll, playing a prank on the DayZ community at large.
