QuakeCon 2012 is just a couple weeks away from getting started in Dallas, Texas and today, we've learned a bit more about what players can expect at the annual event.
As always, there will be some major tournaments, including a Quake Live tournament that features a total prize purse of $30,000. There are quite a few really exciting Quake tournaments going on this year, a few of which are sponsored by Intel. Some more information on QuakeCon's tournaments can be found at http://www.quakecon.org/. What we're most excited about at this year's QuakeCon isn't actually Quake at all, but rather Dishonored - the upcoming first-person stealth game from Bethesda Softworks.
Bethesda has announced that Dishonored will be playable at QuakeCon alongside the upcoming BFG Edition of DOOM 3. As expected, the keynote address will be given by id Software co-founder John Carmack. His keynotes are always worth watching, and should be streamed online if you can't make it to Dallas next month.
If you're not planning on attending QuakeCon 2012, make sure you tune in to FPS General as we'll be bringing you coverage of the event. QuakeCon 2012 gets underway on August 2nd!
