Bethesda Softworks released a brand new version of a classic today, in DOOM 3 BFG Edition. This is the definitive version of DOOM 3 so if you haven't played it before, this is the best chance you'll have to get into the game.

DOOM 3 BFG is due out in October and, if you're not familiar with the game, is a fully remastered and complete version of id Software's masterpiece, DOOM 3. This is the definitive version of DOOM 3 and includes the Resurrection of Evil add-on and The Lost Mission, the latter of which adds 7 new levels to the game.

Bethesda Softworks and id Software have released a brand new trailer for their upcoming FPS DOOM 3 BFG Edition. DOOM 3 is, of course, not a new game but the BFG Edition is due out October 16th and should introduce this legendary title to a new audience.

According to Bethesda, in DOOM 3 BFG players will:

Return to Mars and face off against the forces of Hell. Suit up as the only surviving member of the Union Aerospace Corporation’s Bravo Team and discover the horrifying truth behind the unimaginable evil that has been unleashed across the planet. You are the last hope in a race to stop a full scale invasion from Hell. 

In the BFG Edition of DOOM 3, players get access to 8 all new levels as part of the 'Lost Missions' which is what this trailer is all about.

Bethesda has announced this morning that the BFG Edition of their iconic first-person shooter DOOM 3 will be launching in North America on October 16th. For DOOM lovers in Europe, the game will hit shelves a few days later on the 19th of October.

DOOM 3 BFG Edition has been remastered for modern technology and can even be played in 3D, boasting 5.1 surround sound and updated lighting and rendering capabilities. If you haven't played DOOM 3 before, you owe it to yourself to check out this iconic game and even if you have played DOOM 3 before, the updates and enhancements are enough to merit a new purchase. 

The game is set to retail on PC for $29.99 and on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $39.99. On top of the BFG Edition of DOOM 3, you're also getting DOOM I and II so you can't really go wrong here.
