How To Get Into Far Cry 3's Upcoming Closed Beta

Ubisoft announced today that the closed beta for their upcoming first-person shooter Far Cry 3 will be going live this Summer.

There are a few ways to get into the closed beta, but first a quick look at the game itself. Far Cry 3 sees players stranded on an island where seemingly every resident has lost their minds at some point, and most of them want you dead. Playing as Jason Brody, a tourist who gets separated from his girlfriend while on the island, players will have to fight their way through the local militia and the islands nutty inhabitants.

As for the beta, Ubisoft is going to be giving us a taste of competitive multiplayer in Far Cry 3. Teams of 8 vs 8 will face off on select Far Cry 3 maps and game modes. Now, how can you get in to this beta? Details are as follows:

  • Players who purchase Ghost Recon: Future Soldier at Gamestop, and are a member of Gamestop's PowerUp Rewards program, will be given a key to get into the beta.
  • Like Far Cry 2 on Facebook for a chance to win entry into the beta.
  • Visit http://www.farcrygame.com/sweeps for another drawing.

    Before people get all excited about the Beta and try and gain access it's probably worth noting (which the articles didn't) that the Beta is only for the consoles. PC players are second class once again..
