Earlier this morning, we announced our quest to determine the greatest shooter character of all time in the FPS General Bracket Challenge. Just think of March Madness, except with more guns and less basketball.

We've put together a pretty amazing bracket but we need your votes to determine who advances and who will be left behind. Some of the matchups are pretty exciting, and you can check out all of the Round 1 matchups in the bracket which you can check out here.

Some standout matchups in Round 1 include:

Nathan Drake vs Dusty

Nathan Drake, of Uncharted fame, is easily one of the most iconic video game characters around.

His exploits in the three core Uncharted games have been nothing short of amazing and some have called Uncharted the greatest overall modern video game franchise.

But will Nathan Drake's status as a gaming icon and PlayStation 3 staple be enough to overcome the iconic and glorious beard that Dusty so proudly sports on the cover of 2010's Medal of Honor?

Garrus Vakarian vs Tali'Zorah

The bracket generator we used was completely random and we're so excited to see same-game matchups both in Garrus vs Tali and Wheatley vs Chell. No more, "Which game do you prefer?", decision-making.

This is a flat out, "Who is the better character?" kind of decision and we're excited to see who takes the cake. If there actually is a cake.

The Illusive Man vs The Heavy

This is kind of like a matchup between two characters who don't really have given names. Yeah, yeah, the Illusive Man used to have a regular name but not anymore.

This is an all out battle between two characters who we couldn't even address properly if we had to call them in for dinner.

Will the Illusive Man's ability to elude the competition prove effective in this contest or will The Heavy simply chaingun his way to a decisive victory?

Before we get straight into the voting, you may remember us mentioning something about an Xbox 360 in our original post this morning. Each week, we are giving you a chance to add your name to our Xbox 360 sweepstakes.

Up for grabs is a 250GB Xbox 360 with Kinect Bundle. This bundle includes a 250GB Xbox 360 unit, a Kinect sensor, two games and 3 months worth of Xbox Live. After the Bracket Challenge is all wrapped up, we will draw one winner at random for the Xbox 360. While we're only drawing one winner, we are actually giving you a chance to submit your name up to five times, once per voting round.
