Last night at 11:59PM PT sharp, Round 1 of the FPS General Bracket Challenge came to a close. Well, the voting is finished and the results are in.
Round 2 will be starting this afternoon, but here is a look at some of the Round 1 action. We were pretty excited to see who would win in some of our more fierce matchups, including Wheatley vs Chell from Valve's Portal franchise; Garrus vs Tali'Zorah from Mass Effect and The Illusive Man vs The Heavy. Believe it or not, those weren't even our closest matchups.
Garrus defeated Tali by a pretty heft margin and Wheatley dealth Chell a resounding defeat. The Illusive Man and The Heavy were pretty close, with a margin of 4 votes making the difference in favor of the Heavy. Our closest competition came from Alyx Vance vs The Spy. Perhaps because both of these great characters come courtesy of Valve Software, the voting was incredibly close with Alyx Vance coming out as the victor by a margin of just one vote.
