FPS General Bracket Challenge, Final Round!

This is it, the last chance you have to cast your vote for your favorite shooter character of all time. We've narrowed things down from 64 original characters to just two final competitors.

Facing off in the Final are Commander Shepard from BioWare's Mass Effect franchise and GLaDOS from Valve Software's Portal series. Where will you cast your vote?

Commander Shepard has had a strong presence in the Bracket Challenge so far, pretty much mowing down most of his opposition to date. The only real challenge for Shepard was last week, when he went up against Cave Johnson from Portal 2. Those votes were pretty close, but ultimately Shepard came out on top.

GLaDOS is a different story, and she has pretty dominated all of her opponents to date. Last week, she went up against The Heavy from Team Fortress 2 - a character who had done quite well for himself up until then - and won the round by a significant margin. Will she have the same luck against Commander Shepard?

As soon as the final votes are tallied, we will be announcing both the winner of the Bracket Challenge and our real-life winner of the 250GB Xbox 360 with Kinect bundle, so make sure you stay tuned!

Keep reading for the polls!

Are you ready to cast your vote for your favorite shooter character of all time? Every vote counts, so let's hear it!

    Glados.

The reason is simple, While shepard is dying, Glados will still be alive, And when shepard is dead, Glados will be alive.

Portal was more engaging and i actully cared for the other characters, even though there was only three, and that to me is very impressing.

I voted Commander Shepard, because i think that if you choose the right options and speak with your squadmates/NPCs much you can see how well the Story ist written, even ME3.

But i also think that GLaDOS is going to win this round, just because GLaDOS is a fun character and has some great ideas involved, and Shepard is just another badass running over the field. But as i said,if you spend maaaaany hours in Mass Effect and speak with EVERY person and do EVERY Quest, then Shepard is too a very great personality.

    Great round,great fight
and i dont care wo will win ;)

I picked GLaDOS because the feel of the game and her jokes and comments throughout the games were just stunning, the game and the narration of GLaDOS took me into the game like no other game did and Mass Effect's Commander Shephard did not pull me into the game at all, I found that the character lacked the key ingredients that makes a great character and a game immersive.

Commander Shepard.Because i have over 200 hours in the mass effect series.........and we have the same hair!!!

Even though I loved creating my Shepard and playing through the series I would still say GLaDOS is my favourite out of the two she/it is just so damn funny. Even hearing her jokes for the second time or even the third still give me a good chuckle and for that GLaDOS gets my vote. Also having her there in Portal and its sequel made what could have been a rather dull puzzle game fantastic.

This is a tough one...I'm probably more attached to Commander Shepard, but GLaDOS got my vote because I think in the end she's a more memorable character (and probably a more memorable game).

As much as I like GLaDOS as a character I do think that Commander Shepard has to be a personal favorite. The amount of time that can be sunk into the Mass Effect franchise makes me care a great deal about him (or her). Also the fact that he truly is your character, you can craft a back story, design his looks and his personality makes him the clear winner for me.

GlaDOS simply because GLaDOS has one personality where as in mass effect you can either make shepard a complete d-bag, or an angel. There's no real character "Commander Shepard", since he can be millions of personalities.

GLaDOS, because she is such (for an AI) a dynamic and witty character/foe in the portal games and you can see a dramatic change in her outlook at the end of portal 2 which made me have a warm fuzzy feeling inside after beating the game for my first time.

I voted for GLaDOS because I like potatoes and testing on helpless robots with infinte respawn, mwaaa haaaa haaaa haaaaa

As Shepard you made some pretty harsh or correct decisions to stave off the reaper threat you needed interaction with key people and either went from a good or bad ending for said key person.

As Shepard you fought through the universe to defeat the reapers and that storyline will always be on my top   storylined games..

GLaDOS is my pick because the Portal series has always struck me in the heart, in the first one, where she was constantly insulting you yet somehow pushing you forward, also making a somewhat common puzzle game 50 times more interesting. In the second one, she was even given more depth than the killer AI ready to do whatever it takes to forward science in that she was originally Caroline, allowing you to bond even deeper with the character, particularly when she was a potato :D

Commander Shepard wasn't really a big deal to me, he was pretty much like just about every other video game main character Hero type, and imo, somewhat like a copy of Master Chief in that he ends up sacrificing his life for humanity (although from Halo 4 it seems MC is still around :D)

I chose for GLaDOS cause she is one of the most recognizable characters in videogame history. Not only because of her sarcasm but also the bond that you and her grow. It can be only me but i hadn't had that with Com. Shepard.

Though I do love the Mass Effect series, GLaDOS wins out my vote with her interesting and wholly novel idea of a humorous (and for the most part, evil) AI.

Voting for GLaDOS: she's a really carismatic character, and her concept is something really ORIGINAL. I mean, she's a robot with lots of humor, sarcasm and human feelings, and no one has thought up to now of doing something "particular" like this! I really enjoyed her dialogues through both the portals, and I really hope she wins. She is really badass, 'nuff said.
