With a decisive 62.5% of the votes, the winner of the FPS General Bracket Challenge is GLaDOS from Valve Software's Portal series!

GLaDOS is officially FPS General's favorite first-person shooter character of all-time, as she deals Commander Shepard a resounding blow in the Final of our bracket challenge. GLaDOS hasn't had it easy, by any stretch, her victories to date have been over such fan-favorite characters as:

• Noble 6 from Halo: Reach
• Vault Boy from Fallout
• Private Haggard from Battlefield: Bad Company 1 & 2
• Wheatley from Portal 2
• The Heavy from Team Fortress 2

And, finally, Commander Shepard from BioWare's beloved Mass Effect franchise. General opinion seemed to be that Commander Shepard didn't have much of a personality on his own, and that you, as the player, defined who he or she was as a person. GLaDOS, on the other hand, has a defining and beloved personality and she has clearly won top honors in our Bracket Challenge.

If you remember, we were also giving away a 250 GB Xbox 360 with Kinect Bundle. Well, we're happy to say that our winner is...CsSxPlay3r! Congratulations and enjoy your brand new Xbox 360 and thanks for voting!

Congratulations, as well, to Valve Software and Ellen McLain - the game studio and voice actor behind GLaDOS respectively. To celebrate the big victory, we'd like to promise you all a delicious slice of...oh no....

This is it, the last chance you have to cast your vote for your favorite shooter character of all time. We've narrowed things down from 64 original characters to just two final competitors.

Facing off in the Final are Commander Shepard from BioWare's Mass Effect franchise and GLaDOS from Valve Software's Portal series. Where will you cast your vote?

Commander Shepard has had a strong presence in the Bracket Challenge so far, pretty much mowing down most of his opposition to date. The only real challenge for Shepard was last week, when he went up against Cave Johnson from Portal 2. Those votes were pretty close, but ultimately Shepard came out on top.

GLaDOS is a different story, and she has pretty dominated all of her opponents to date. Last week, she went up against The Heavy from Team Fortress 2 - a character who had done quite well for himself up until then - and won the round by a significant margin. Will she have the same luck against Commander Shepard?

As soon as the final votes are tallied, we will be announcing both the winner of the Bracket Challenge and our real-life winner of the 250GB Xbox 360 with Kinect bundle, so make sure you stay tuned!

Round 5 of the FPS General Bracket Challenge is finished, and we've finally arrived at the Final, with just two characters remaining.

Last week, you guys voted on four time-honored shooter characters to narrow the field down even further. Competing for top honors last week were Cave Johnson from Portal 2, Commander Shepard from BioWare Mass Effect franchise, GLaDOS from Portal and Portal 2 and The Heavy, from Team Fortress 2.

Only two were able to move on and they were...

These two characters will be battling it out for your votes this week in the Final Round of voting! We'll open up the polls at around 3:00PM so make sure you check back in with us to vote! After this round, we will be giving away the coveted 250GB Xbox 360 with Kinect Bundle, including two free Kinect games.

The FPS General Bracket Challenge is just two rounds away from wrapping up and seeing one first-person shooter character crowned Fan Favorite! The tournament has been a blast to watch and we've loved seeing all of your votes pouring in. We only have four characters left, and the matchups are pretty exciting.

Today, we start the process of narrowing that 8 down to 4, then to 2 and finally crowning a single champion at the end of our tournament. Round 2 of the FPS General Bracket Challenge is all wrapped up so you know what that means; Round 3 is ready to begin and, along with it, another chance to win the 250GB Xbox 360 bundle is yours!

If the intensity of the matchups in Round 2 is any indicator, we are in for some very close battles in Round 3. Several of our matches in Round 2 were neck and neck and Samus Aran vs Solid Snake had to be decided with a tiebreaker. Wheatley vs Gordon Freeman

If you asked us to put money on who we thought was going to win this matchup, we'd probably punch you in the face and escape into the shadows because there is simply no way we can make that decision. Why did you even ask, anyway? Wheatley and Gordon Freeman are two of video games' most well received characters, and couldn't be any more opposite from each other in personality.

Wheatley, the loveable and chatty bot voiced brilliantly by Stephen Merchant, made his debut in Portal 2 last year and became an instant success. His quirky charm and hilarious dialogue made Wheatley a favorite among Portal 2 players. Gordon Freeman, on the other hand, never speaks. He is the silent, recognizeable hero from the Half-Life franchise. With the iconic crowbar never far from his side, Gordon Freeman speaks to us in a very basic way; he is someone we can relate to, an everyday person just like us, thrust into a battle for survival.

Both of these characters were created by Valve Software, so it's a win-win for them. Who will you vote for?

Round 2 of voting in our Bracket Challenge is all wrapped up, and we're ready to reveal the characters who will be advancing to Round 3.

If you're not up to speed, the Bracket Challenge is our way here at FPS General to crown one fan favorite character from a shooter. We are pitting the likes of Gordon Freeman, Nathan Drake, Wheatley from Portal 2 and a slew of others against each other in user-voted matchups. We aren't stopping until we crown a single champion and to sweeten the Bracket Challenge, we'll be giving away a 250GB Xbox 360 with Kinect bundle, simply to say thank you for helping us crown a champ.
