Nexuiz News Update: Patch Notes, DLC and Steam Workshop Support Announced

THQ and Illfonic are releasing both free and paid updates to their arena shooter Nexuiz next week, bringing both much needed bugfixes as well as some really exciting DLC.

First up, Nexuiz is getting a much anticipated patch that aims to fix a ton of bugs including latency issues and player prediction. The patch also introduces more options for dynamic mutators, crosshairs, spectator cameras, LAN support, dedicated servers and, perhaps our most anticipated feature, Steam Workshop support.

With Steam Workshop support, the modding community will be able to design maps for Nexuiz. These maps will be available to download right from Steam via Steam Workshop in the same way that mods for a game like Skyrim are available currently. Players will be able to design maps for play in Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and the new Duel mode. Speaking of Duel Mode...

Illfonic is releasing a pretty awesome DLC add-on for the game in the new Duel Mode. If you've been playing Modern Warfare 3 lately, you'll be right at home in Duel Mode as it is very similar to Face Off, which was just added to that game recently. In Duel Mode, players face off on one of the three new maps (or user-created map) in 1 vs 1 matchups.

The DLC and its required patch will be available on Tuesday, July 3rd. Everything except for Duel Mode will be available free of charge next week.
