
Last night, U4iA Games (pronounced like 'euphoria') held an event to officially unveil their upcoming browser-based shooter, Offensive Combat. We had seen the game through screenshots and media online, but this was the first time the world got their hands on the game.
Our first impression of the game was bananas. Not in the slang sense of the word, but literally...bananas. On the floor, on the desks, just bananas everywhere. We soon realized that this was a reference to the vast, vast customization options in the game, one of which is a banana suit for your character (see below). If you've seen screenshots from Offensive Combat, you've undoubtedly noticed some pretty crazy things going on. From a lizard-octopus hybrid character to a rubber chicken as a melee weapon, Offensive Combat pretty much lets you do whatever you want in terms of customizing your character.
Every part of your character is customizable, so if you want to attach the lower half of a chicken to the upper half of a lizard, you're free to do it. But customization doesn't stop at your character's look and feel, Offensive Combat boasts a full range of unique weapons, items and equipment for you to do battle with. The weapons felt great, the learning curve was more than manageable. The game was easy to pick up and play, which we did - for about two straight hours - but ultimately, you'll have to hone your skills and fine tune your strategy to be successful in Offensive Combat. The pick up and play aspect of the game is very reminiscent of Call of Duty - and with good reason...
