Sony Online Entertainment has given us our first glimpse at another vehicle in PlanetSide 2 - the Lightning Tank!
The guys over at Gamesradar have some preliminary information on the Lightning Tank as well as some exciting screenshots, making the wait for PlanetSide 2 just that much more difficult. The Lightning is available for all three factions, and is capable of firing up to six rounds in under three seconds. The tank allows for the driver to adjust their aim after their first round is fired. The turret can be modified, but if you're looking for the most lethal anti-aircraft weaponry, the Skyguard Turret is your best friend. The Skyguard can be used against ground troops as well, but when fired in the air, it acts as a Flak Cannon so if you're shot isn't 100% on target, you're still likely to impede the enemy pilot.
Where traditional tanks are slow-moving and devastating, the Lightning Tank lives up to its name with the high rate of fire. The single-pilot Lightning isn't as heavy as some other tanks, but can be expertly employed to flank enemies and take out air support while neutralizing ground forces as well.
