Shootmania: Storm

Two Things You Might Have Missed in ShootMania's Launch

As ShootMania: Storm continues to make waves among FPS veterans and newcomers alike, there are a couple things that you might have missed when the game launched last week.

Combo Mode

This brand new game mode was released simultaneously with the launch of ShootMania: Storm but it was buried among the frantic excitement that any launch week brings with it. Combo is a game mode that enables weapon switching - as well as a new weapon, but more on that later.

Item pick ups are available around the map in the form of lasers, nucleus and arrows.

The rules are pretty simple; two teams of 2 fight to eliminate each other. The first team to eliminate both opposing members wins, but the enemies must be eliminated two in a row. After every elimination, the time window to execute a 'Combo' as it is called increases. If neither team completes a Combo by the time the regulation timer ends, there will be a sudden death overtime period.

New Weapon: Arrow

With the brand new Combo game mode comes a brand new weapon; the Arrow.

The Arrow is a ballistic weapon that causes some splash damage to nearby enemies within the area of effect.

Both of these are available from the get-go with ShootMania: Storm, but it's a little confusing to get it into your game. Here's what you have to do:

  1. From the title menu in ShootMania: Storm, go into the Storm or Elite station and click the Combo announcement.
  2. This will take you to the in-game store. Download the Combo add-on - it is free and less than 4MB.
  3. Go back to the main title screen and click an empty station and select ShootMania: Storm Combo to install.

That's it, you're all set. Enjoy the new ShootMania: Storm content!
