City Interactive has nailed down a release date for their upcoming sniping game, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, a follow up the the popular 2010 sniping Sniper: Ghost Warrior.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 has us pretty excited for a handful of reasons, but at the forefront is the games use of Crytek's proprietary game engine CryEngine3. This is the engine that powered the gorgeous Crysis 2 and has been leased for use in a handful of games since. The engine is powerful and capable of creating some truly gorgeous environments and gameplay situations. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 will compete directly with Sniper Elite V2 for the sniping simulator throne, although in our books, there is always room for both - particularly as they visit two entirely different eras.
Taking up the role of a modern day sniper, players will navigate some beautiful environments and have to account for real-life ballistics including gravity and elevation to calculate an accurate bullet trajectory. While the game might not hit shelves until August, you can check out some screenshots of the game below.
