Hot on the heels of our exclusive footage from The War Z's alpha test yesterday, we have some brand new gameplay showing off the notes and message system that the game features.
In The War Z, players have the ability to pick up Time Capsules which will let you store a letter to other players inside of before dropping it somewhere in the game world. When you select your time capsule, a dialogue box will open up that lets you input a message to be stored inside the capsule. When you are finished writing, your player drops the time capsule and it can now be picked up by a friend and added to their inventory should they come across it.
This can be ideal if you are playing persistently with a friend but they aren't able to be online with you at the moment. You can leave the time capsule at a predetermined location, detailing your progress on fortifying your base or any other number of in-game happenings. Then, when they are able to get online, they can grab the time capsule and read whatever message you left for them. Perhaps the location of some hidden goods? The sky's the limit.
In the gameplay above, the player uses the time capsule to leave a message for a friend, warning them that the nearby rooftops are teeming with zombies.
