This Summer marks the return of the Tribes franchise to the competitive e-sports scene! Hi-Rez has announced that they will kick off the Summer of Tribes tournament series this month with a host of Tribes: Ascend tournaments.
Tournaments are going to be happening regularly between May and August of this year, including a very special tournament hosted by the team here at FPS General. We'll have more info on our tournament in the very near future, but in the meantime, Hi-Rez Studios COO Todd Harris had this to say, regarding the tournaments...
“Given that we just released Tribes: Ascend mid April, we’re pleased with how quickly the e-Sports community is growing,” says Todd Harris, Hi-Rez Studios COO. “Our team believes that Tribes can be a premier spectator event and we’re thrilled to have partners who share this vision and support the community with great broadcast content as well as prizing”
Perhaps one of the most exciting features is the ability to stream tournaments directly from inside the Tribes: Ascend game client! While there will be live streams and the like being made available, streaming from in-game will be a very convenient way to stay connected to the tournaments you're most interested in following.
