
With our very first tournament - the FPS General Tribes: Ascend Invitational - just around the corner, we're working around the clock to hammer out the details and keep our readers abreast of developments. Today, we are announcing both the official rules that the Invitational will follow as well as the teams that will be competing for the glory and the cash.
First up, here are the official FPS General Tribes: Ascend Invitational rules:
Format:
7v7 Double Elimination Tournament
Seeding:
Initial tournament seeding will be based upon a power ranking provided by FPS General and to be announced on Tuesday, June 26th.

Overtime: 10 Minutes
Draws: In the event of a draw, the map on which the draw occurred shall be replayed until a winner emerges.
Credit System:
Team Credit Pool: Enabled

Shrike Limit: 1

Grav Cycle Limit: 2
Grav Cycle Price: 5000
Limits refer to the maximum a team may be using at one time, for clarification this means a team cannot hijack an opposing vehicle if they are already at the vehicle limit.

Orbital Strikes: Disabled
Supply Drop Price: 5000
Base Assets:
Automatic Generator Repair: Disabled
Base Asset Upgrades: Disabled
Restricted Weapons:
All short fuse grenades are restricted. Should significant changes be made to these or any restricted weapon in the week prior to the tournament date, tournament administrators reserve the right to un-restrict weapons provided a public announcement is made.

Server Regions
Games played between 2 North American teams will be played on the North America East region servers.
Games played between North American and European teams will be played on a NA East, London, NA East server rotation.
Games played between 2 European teams will be played on the London server region.
Map Pool, Sides & Selection
- Arx Novena
- Crossfire
- Dry Dock
- Tartarus
- Katabatic
Each team will veto 1 map from the pool and the teams will play the remaining 3 maps in the above order. In the event that both teams veto the same map, the team which responds with their choice first will submit a second veto choice.
The top seeded team in each match up will play on team Blood Eagle, the lower seeded will play Diamond Sword.
So who will be battling it out for glory and the top cash prize of $1750?
