• Guerilla Games Reveals Killzone: Shadow Fall, Coming to PlayStation 4

    As you might have guessed, the big story today is the PlayStation 4 and FPS General has been taking a look at all of the shooter flavored news that came out of last night's huge event in New York.

    One of those shooters that was unveiled came in the form of Killzone: Shadow Fall, a brand new game coming from Guerilla Games. We have long been fans of Killzone so the premise of a brand new game with the updated PlayStation 4 is very exciting to us, indeed. We don't know much about the story just yet as it's still pretty early, but presumably this will be a launch title when the PS4 hits shelves this holiday season.

    Here is what we do know about Killzone: Shadow Fall:

    Set thirty years after the events of the Killzone trilogy, the world of Killzone Shadow Fall is a very different place. Forced together by circumstance, the two rival factions of the Helghast and the Vektans live side by side in a futuristic city, divided by a vast wall.

    Tensions are high, and a war can spark at any moment. In the midst of this all stands a Shadow Marshall, the most special of the special forces, tasked with maintaining the delicate balance.

  • Killzone Trilogy Coming to PlayStation 3, Original Killzone Getting HD Upgrade


    Sony has announced that the three games that make up the core PlayStation series, Killzone, will be re-released as a boxed set. This boxed set includes Killzone, Killzone 2 and Killzone 3.

    What's more, is that Killzone - originally released on PlayStation 2 - will be getting a full HD upgrade, getting it on the same level as Killzone 2 and 3. Killzone is one of our favorite franchises, with Killzone 3 standing out as the best in our eyes. Guerilla Games has mastered sweeping cinematic storytelling in this franchise, and it really is a must-play for shooter fans who haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

    Not only is Sony throwing in Killzone 1, 2 and 3 in a single package but they are also including every single multiplayer map pack from Killzone 2 and 3 completely free of charge. This includes:

    Killzone 2 Map Pack Bundle
    • Steel & Titanium Map Pack
    • Flash & Thunder Map Pack
    • Napalm & Cordite Map Pack
    Killzone 3 Map Pack Bundle
    • Killzone 3 Steel Rain Map Pack
    • Killzone 3 Retro Map Pack
    • Killzone 3 From The Ashes Map Pack

    And that is on top of the core game and all of their respective multiplayer content.

    As far as pricing goes, the game is expected to retail at just $39.99, making this an absolute must-have for PlayStation 3 players. Mark your calendars, Killzone Trilogy is shipping on October 23rd and there will be more information between now and then.
