Starhawk developers Lightbox Interactive has released Patch 1.4 for their PlayStation-exclusive shooter, bringing a wealth of new content to the game completely for free.
Something that Lightbox has been passionate about even before Starhawk launched back in May of this year is the quest for free DLC. Every other publisher is releasing DLC by the boatload, but they are also charging upwards of $9.99 per content drop. To the avid gamer, that can result in $60 for the game plus an additional $40 or more depending on the amount of DLC that the publisher revealed.
To Lightbox Interactive, this isn't a business model that they can get behind. Instead, they are releasing all of their content free of charge. The latest example of this is Patch 1.4 for Starhawk, which introduces a ton of content for absolutely zero dollars.
Patch 1.4 includes five full multiplayer maps and three completely new game modes. This same content would run you around $15 if it was a different franchise. You know the one. Comes out in November. Everyone's going to buy it. Going to break all the sales records. You guessed it, The Hip Hop Dance Experience.
Fire up your copy of Starhawk on PlayStation 3 to download Patch 1.4 and start playing the brand new content.
