• Offensive Combat Checks In As OUYA's First FPS Release

    U4iA Games has announced a partnership with the makers of the next exciting home gaming console, OUYA, to bring Offensive Combat to their platform. This makes Offensive Combat the first confirmed FPS game to be coming to the new console.

    The studio is comprised of some legendary industry veterans including folks who pioneered games like SOCOM, Call of Duty and Guitar Hero. In the announcement, CEO Dusty Welch said:

    "Everyone here at U4iA Games is excited to bring our titles to OUYA! Given that consoles are so expensive and face an uncertain future, OUYA stands out as the perfect example of an affordable home-entertainment platform created specifically for core gamers like us. We've used our profound wisdom to create a cheeky, free-for-all shooting mash-up called Offensive Combat. Moving forward, we can't wait to bring all-new games in the Offensive Combat universe to the OUYA platform."

  • What You Need to Know About OUYA, The New Home Gaming Console

    If you haven't been paying close attention, you may not have heard about OUYA. The brand new gaming console has been stirring up waves for a little less than a month now, and for good reason.

    We've been debating on doing a story on OUYA, since it's not 'shooter news', strictly speaking, but we really think you guys are going to be excited about the console, if you haven't heard of it yet.

    OUYA was launched on Kickstarter on July 10th. In less than 24 hours, the console had raised over 2 million dollars! So what is it about OUYA that's getting people so interested?

    As it turns out, there's quite a bit to be excited about. OUYA is open-source, meaning that independent community developers will be able to tweak the console to their liking. Based on Google's open Android platform, OUYA is looking to revolutionize the way we play games on our television sets. Developers and designers are jumping on board with OUYA in droves, with more and more games and studios pledging their efforts to the console. 

    Robert Bowling, former Creative Strategist at Infinity Ward, has announced that the prequel to his recently announced zombie survival game, Human Element, will be released as a launch title on OUYA.
