Ubisoft has announced that Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be infiltrating enemy lines across all battlefronts on August 20th. Which is just a fancy way of us saying that it's coming out on August 20th on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

In addition to this announcement, the team has released a brand new trailer for the game which intersperses footage of Sam Fisher suiting up in his trademark gear with clips of previous United States Presidents being sworn in to office on their inauguration day. In Blacklist, Sam Fisher works directly for the current president who has entrusted Fisher and his Fourth Echelon team with the task of stopping a group of terrorists from carrying out their lethal plot. The groups has launched The Blacklist, an attack plan that will see an escalating countdown of terrorist attacks against the United States.

Sam Fisher and the Fourth Echelon must find and stop these terrorists before the countdown reaches zero.

The beauty of Splinter Cell is that you, as a player, dictate how the mission will progress in regards to how stealthy or how loud you want to go. Sure, the game is designed to encourage a stealthy play style but it's not a requisite. If you want to rush your enemies, weapons blazing, you can do so.

In the video above, Community Developer Zack Cooper takes us through the E3 demo of Splinter Cell: Blacklist one more time, this time playing as a Ghost. Favoring stealth above all else. Just how does a Ghost take his enemies down without causing a scene?

Check out the video above to find out and drop by http://splintercell.ubi.com/ for more information on Splniter Cell: Blacklist.

Ubisoft was on hand at Gamescom this week, showing off Splinter Cell: Blacklist among other great titles. Taking us through an in-depth, 10-minute walkthrough of a mission in Splinter Cell: Blacklist is Creative Director, Maxime Beland of Ubisoft Montreal.

In Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Sam Fisher is back once again, directly following the events of Splinter Cell: Conviction. Without offering too many spoilers, Sam did not expect himself to be brought back into the fray. As a result, he has made some demands in exchange for his services. Fourth Echelon, the elite group that he is leading, will be his team, his rules and he answers only to the President of the Unites States directly. Only Sam Fisher could make those demands and have them fulfilled.

The walkthrough is a must-see for fans of the Splinter Cell franchise, regardless of how you feel about Sam's new voice. Check it out above!

Ubisoft Toronto Communitiy Developer, Zach Cooper, has answered some of our questions on their upcoming third-person shooter, Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

The video discusses non-lethal combat, the in-game economy system and map variety. In regards to the economy system, your first thought might be microtransactions in the game, but that isn't what Ubisoft is referring to at all. As you'll see in the video, the economy system refers to the way that the game rewards you for doing certain objectives. For example, if you take an enemy out completely stealthily - meaning nobody sees you do it, the game is going to reward you for your efforts. Likely those rewards will play out for things like weapon upgrades and perhaps equipment as in previous Splinter Cell titles.

The video is embedded above, so just click play and enjoy! Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be launching in the Spring of 2013.

Yesterday at E3, Ubisoft unveiled Splinter Cell: Blacklist, a brand new entry into Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell franchise. The story brings new life to protagonist Sam Fisher in more ways than one.

To start with, Fisher has a whole new arsenal of weapons, gadgets and abilities that make him even more lethal a spy. He is heading up the Fourth Echelon, assigned by the President of the United States to take down a terrorist organization in the Middle East. Fisher is not just getting new moves and equipment, however, but a brand new voice actor as well.

Michael Ironsides has long been the voice of Sam Fisher, the voice of Splinter Cell, but as Ubisoft updates their motion-capture technology, they are doing more than just voice acting. Actors are now going to be using full capture technology, meaning that their voices and body motion will be captured together.

Ubisoft takes us through the paces as Sam Fisher in the official E3 2012 Splinter Cell: Blacklist gameplay demo.

In the video, embedded above, Ubisoft walks us through a demo mission in which they play as Sam Fisher. The story focuses on a discreet terrorist network that is launching systematic attacks against the United States. Fisher is sent in to lead the Fourth Echelon, a deniable operations unit, and stop this terrorist threat.

Utilizing some fantastic stealth mechanics and even a slow-motion effect similar to Max Payne's Bullet Time, Fisher marks his targets and executes them with incredible precision. Blending third-person shooter action with climbing mechanics that would make Nathan Drake proud, the demo takes us through this Middle Eastern urban environment while Sam takes his enemies down one at a time.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist once again follows protagonist Sam Fisher, but this time he's heading to the Middle East. The gameplay looked incredible and the trailer just as much so. What's more, Splinter Cell: Blacklist will see the return of the awesome Spies vs Mercenaries game mode that the last Splinter Cell title opted to not include.

Microsoft just spilled the beans on Ubisoft Toronto's latest project, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and the game looks incredible.

Sam Fisher is back once again in this installment of Splinter Cell. Ubisoft Toronto was on hand at Microsoft's press event to show off the game and share a few details. Some of the stand-out features we noted, include:

    • Incredibly fluid combat system, Sam is able to take down multiple enemies using various game mechanics.
    • There looks to be a mechanic in place similar to Max Payne's iconic Bullet Time feature.
    • The graphics looked great and reminiscent of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, another Tom Clancy title.
    • Kinect voice integration looked great and nicely implemented.
    • Sliding over cover looks too satisfying for words.
    • Spies vs Mercenaries, which was not included in Splinter Cell: Conviction, will make a return.
    • Blacklist features single-player, co-op and the aforementioned Spies vs Mercenaries.
The game looks great and while we wait to get some video coverage, check out the first batch of screenshots in the gallery below!
