• Team Fortress 2's Mann vs Machine Gets Matchmaking Update

    Valve has released an update this week for the recently introduced co-op mode in Team Fortress 2, Mann vs Machine.

    The update brings changes to matchmaking and difficulty in Mann vs Machine. First up, there are two new Tours of Duty (MvM's name for difficulty modes). One of the new tours is more difficult than the normal mode, while the other is easier. Both tours feature some new loot that can be acquired during the match. All told, Mann vs Machine now features three Tours of Duty...

    • Operation Oil Spill (Easiest)
    • Operation Steel Trap (Harder)
    • Operation Gear Grinder (Hardest)

    In addition to the new Tours of Duty, Valve has also updated Matchmaking with some new options.

    The improvements are going to make it much easier to get into a group with other players, letting you select multiple missions when you begin your matchmaking search. Additionally, after you complete the mission, you will be sent back to the matchmaking screen with your group, allowing you all to quickly jump into a new match together.

  • Let's Play Team Fortress 2's Brand New Co-Op Mode, Mann vs Machine


    Have you had a chance to check out Team Fortress 2's brand new cooperative game mode, Mann vs Machine? If not, then you're in for a treat as we're bringing you an in-depth Let's Play with the fun new way to play Team Fortress 2.

    Mann vs. Machine is a new co-operative game for Team Fortress 2 that lets you and five friends wage a desperate battle to stop a lethal horde of robots from deploying a bomb in one of Mann Co.’s many strongholds. Take advantage of breaks between waves to upgrade your abilities and weapons. Survive all the waves in any of a variety of missions to earn incredible loot.

  • Valve Releases Meet the Pyro, Announces Source Filmmaker

    We have two major announcements out of the Valve camp in Bellevue, WA today, so brace yourselves.

    First off, today is the day that many Team Fortress 2 fans have been waiting for. After years of playing as the character, we're finally getting a chance to Meet the Pyro. Valve has released their latest animated short, which focuses on the Pyro player class. Up until today, every character class had a Meet The Team short besides the poor, lonely Pyro. That all changes with the release of Meet the Pyro, which you can check out above.

    The second announcement is really exciting...

  • Team Fortress 2, Pyromania Day 2 - City on Fire

    Continuing the three-day information burst on the Pyromania update for Team Fortress 2, Valve Software has released more information on what players can look forward to.

    Today's blog post, City on Fire, shows off new weapons for a few classes and even gives a sneak peek at a scene from Meet the Pyro. The new weapons include:

    • Two new weapons for the Scout; Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol (Pistol) and Babyface's Blaster (Scattergun).
    • Two weapons for the Sniper; The Cleaner's Carbine (SMG) and The Hitman's Heatmaker (Sniper Rifle).
    • One weapon for the Solder; The Beggar's Bazooka (Rocket Launcher).
    • A 'New Toy' for the Pyro; The Scorch Shot flare gun.

  • Meet the Pyro in Team Fortress 2 This Wednesday

    Valve Software has announced that Team Fortress 2 players will finally be able to Meet the Pyro on Wednesday, June 27th. Interestingly, Adult Swim and Valve have announced some sort of partnership that will be unveiled this week...coincidence?

    If you've been playing Team Fortress 2 for any length of time, you'll be familiar with the iconic 'Meet The...' animated shorts that Valve has put out for each of the player characters in Team Fortress 2. The only character left out, until now, was the Pyro. Valve has posted an update on the Team Fortress 2 blog, along with a countdown timer, leading up to June 27th at about 11:00AM Pacific Time.

    Along with the Meet the Pyro short, Valve is releasing a three part update to Team Fortress 2. Appropriately dubbed the 'Pyromania Update', the first update introduces a brand new map. Doomsday's official description can be found below...
