There are a good deal of things that we don't know about the PlayStation 4 but from what we do know, this is going to be a beast among consoles. The reveal event for the console promised more power, a better online experience than what PlayStation Network currently offers and the capability for some truly gorgeous games.

But you know us, we're all about shooters. First-person, third-person...it doesn't really make a difference. So, naturally when I heard about the PlayStation 4, I started getting excited for a new breed of console shooters.

There are a few promising shooters coming to the PlayStation 4 that we know of already, but not all games are created equal. Without further ado, here are my Top 3 Most-Anticipated PlayStation 4 Shooters!

Note: this is the first edition of our list, as more games are announced for the upcoming next-gen console, we will release an update to this list. Like any good first edition, this one will be worth hundreds of millions of dollars in the future.

  • Hacking Chicago in Watch Dogs

Well, another Watch Dogs video has been released and the game still looks absolutely incredible. Every time Ubisoft shows us more of Watch Dogs, I question my Top 5 of 2013 list a little bit more.

In this latest game video, Ubisoft is showing off the sheer power that Aiden Pearch has at his disposal in Watch Dogs. Having hacked into the Central Operating System in Chicago, or cTOS, Pearce has been listed as a threat to the city. In this Threat Monitor Report, we learn - in a very public relations-ish sort of way - all the things that Pearce has access to in Watch Dogs. It's a clever way of telling what Pearce will be able to do in Watch Dogs without seeming to just be pitching the game to us like a used car salesman and we love it.

Take a peek at the video below, but be warned; this will make waiting for Watch Dogs even harder, particularly when we know that it's such a very long time until we get our hands on the game.

  • Watch Dogs Coming to PlayStation 4, Still Looks Incredible

Last night, during the big PlayStation 4 event, Ubisoft announced that Watch Dogs would be arriving on the next-generation console. Given how incredibly good-looking Watch Dogs is, this isn't surprising. To date, all of the footage we've seen so far has been captured from high-end PCs and while the PlayStation 4 is still quite a good distance from high-end PCs, it is definitely a step in the right direction over the current generation of consoles.

Watch Dogs looked just as amazing as it first did last year in last night's open-world gameplay preview. The sheer power that the player character has is amazing, and it seems like the opportunities are absolutely endless as to how you want to handle the situations given to you in the game. In the demo, the player gets his vigilante on by stopping a crime in the middle of the day by using his tools to analyze the risk of a crime happening to a woman on the street.

He then scans a nearby thug and his risk of perpetrating a crime clues him in to what is about to happen. Sure enough, the thug pulls a knife on the woman and our player character springs into action, drawing a weapon on him and forcing him to run for his life. An awesome chase scene ensues and ultimately culminates in our player having to run from the cops in an even more awesome chase scene.

  • Watch Dogs Shipping on PC, 'All Home Consoles' This Holiday Season

    • By NateRios 2/15/2013 8:58:32 PM

Watch Dogs came out of nowhere last year, debuting at E3 to massive critical praise and anticipation. It promptly returned to wherever it came from and Ubisoft has been tight lipped about the game since last Summer. Well, they're still not talking about Watch Dogs but thankfully, other people are.

In a leak sent to Kotaku this morning, we're seeing a brand new poster for Watch Dogs, announcing that the game will be 'available on all home consoles' in time for the holiday season this year. All home consoles is a pretty broad statement to make. As Kotaku points out, does that include the Kickstarter-backed OUYA? The Nintendo Wii U? PlayStation 4 or the next-generation Xbox?

There's a lot of questions, still, and Ubisoft isn't ready to deliver too many answers yet. In a statement to Kotaku, they said:

Ubisoft is pleased with the response for Watch Dogs from media and fans. The game is an original IP that has been created from the ground up at Ubisoft Montreal with inspiration from many titles and ideas the studio has worked on throughout the years.

Check out the full poster after the break, as well as some more promotional materials that were leaked.

  • Is Ubisoft Planning Splinter Cell and Watch Dogs Movies?

According to rumors, fueled by some interesting domain names that Ubisoft has registered, the studio may be working on film adaptations of both Splinter Cell and Watch Dogs.

Splinter Cell, of course, is the classic stealth game franchise from Tom Clancy and Ubisoft. Players have been assassinating and sneaking around as Sam Fisher for years and seeing the property adapted into a film would be pretty exciting, particularly if UbiWorkshop is involved, as they are not willing to sacrifice on the series' integrity just to make a dollar.

According to rumor, Paramount is most likely to end up producing a Splinter Cell film, and they have had experience adapting other Tom Clancy works in the past. It is unclear, since Splinter Cell is made up of both novels and games, whether Ubisoft would be directly involved in this project.

    As for Watch Dogs...

  • Watch Dogs' E3 2012 Gameplay Demo is Amazing

Ubisoft didn't bring a whole arsenal of shooters to E3 this year, but the ones they did have impressed us to no end. Watch Dogs isn't necessarily a third-person shooter, but those mechanics clearly play a pivotal role in this open-world game and we think you're going to be excited about this one.

Watch Dogs came out of nowhere for us, we didn't know Ubisoft was bringing it to E3 and we didn't know how awe inspiring the demo was going to be once we'd seen it. In Watch Dogs grim future, the world's infrastructure is controlled by a single supercomputer. This means all data is being controlled and regulated by a single source and thus everything can be accessed if you have the skills.
