As promised, 2K Games has released a brand new game mode to everyone who picked up a copy of their recently released third-person shooter, Spec Ops: The Line.

The brand new co-op mode, available across Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, ' features a series of objective-based cooperative multiplayer scenarios set in Dubai after a series of cataclysmic sandstorms have wrecked the city.' Right now, the co-op mode includes four separate missions that feature unique playable characters, objectives and environments.

There hasn't been any comment as to whether or not 2K Games will be releasing any more missions in the future as DLC. For now, however, the new co-op mode is completely free for everyone who picked up the game. Check it out now on your preferred platform!

2K Games promising third-person shooter Spec Ops: The Line hits shelves tomorrow, and to get the ball rolling, the team has released a brand new launch trailer for the game.

The launch trailer is embedded above for your viewing pleasure, although it is arguably the darkest trailer for the game yet. The story behind Spec Ops: The Line is that your squad, playing as Captain Walker, investigating the aftermath of a devastating sandstorm in Dubai. Captain Walker and his men are trying to find the whereabouts of Colonel John Konrad and his squad. We had a blast with the demo and are definitely looking forward to getting our hands on the full game tomorrow.

2K Games has announced an exciting partnership with Digital Spy and The Prince Charles Cinema in London, England to celebrate the impending launch of 2K Games' third-person shooter Spec Ops: The Line.

A war movie marathon is set to take place at the Prince Charles Cinema on May 30th, about a month before the launch of Spec Ops: The Line. Fans can head over to Digital Spy to vote on their all-time favorite war films. Starting at 1:00PM local time, the doors will open and seats will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis.

• The Deer Hunter
• Apocalypse Now
• Full Metal Jacket
• The Thin Red Line

Spec Ops: The Line hits shelves on June 26th in the United States and June 29th in Europe, including the United Kingdom.

2K Games and Yager launched the playable demo of their upcoming third-person shooter Spec Ops: The Line yesterday on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

The game takes place in Dubai and this demo gives players a chance to play through two chapters that they will encounter early on in the game. The overarching story is that Colonel John Konrad and his squad are missing so Captain Walker - the player character - and his squad must go in and try to extract them if possible.

The Dubai setting lends itself to dynamic sandstorms that players will have to play through in both singleplayer and multiplayer, although they don't play too heavily into the demo. Walker is expertly voiced by the talented Nolan North, most famous for his role as Nathan Drake from Naughty Dog's Uncharted franchise or perhaps as Desmond Miles, the protagonist in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise. North's talents are only one aspect of the excellent sound design and music in Spec Ops: The Line.

Players eager to get their hands on Spec Ops: The Line will be happy to hear that 2K Games and Yager Development have released a playable demo of the game on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

The demo features a portion of the singleplayer campaign which takes place in Dubai. The player takes on the role of Captain Martin Walker as they search the city for Colonel John Konrad and his platoon, the Damned 33rd. Moving through two chapters early in the game's singleplayer campaign, players will search for survivors and search for answers on the quest to find Colonel Konrad. Spec Ops: The Line also features an in-depth squad-based command system to control your engagements using an array of commands to control your squad.
