• Blacklight Retribution Coming to PlayStation 4

    Zombie Studios has announced that Blacklight Retribution will be heading to PlayStation 4 when that console launches, presumably later this year. Retribution has previously been a PC-exclusive offering, whereas the first game in the series - Blacklight: Tango Down - was a console-exclusive.

    If you haven't played it, Blacklight Retribution is a really fun free to play shooter that steps up what players expect from multiplayer-only F2P games. Whether it's the enjoyable (and occasionally frustrating) Hyper Reality Visor which essentially gives everyone a wallhack built right into the game or the epic Hard Suits that you can pilot to deal death from the comfort of a mech, BlackLight Retribution has been a lot of fun over the last year or so.

    Now it's coming to PlayStation 4 and the free to play model is sticking around.

  • Check Out Zombie Studios and Blacklight: Retribution at PAX Prime 2012

    The team at Zombie Studios has posted a forum update, detailing their PAX Prime 2012 presence and what players can expect from Blacklight: Retribution at one of the last major gaming conferences of this year.

    To start off with, there are multiple Blacklight: Retribution stations being played at PAX Prime this year, hosted both by Intel as well as Zombie Studios themselves. Stop by Zombie Studios' booth (#6212) to check out Blacklight: Retribution in action. The team will have two machines set up playing BLacklight with AI bots. 

    Intel is taking things a step further, and will be hosting 16-player Blacklight: Retribution tournaments during PAX Prime, and even have some great prizes for winners.

    If you're going to be at PAX, make sure you do stop by Zombie Studios' booth as they will be giving away some great loot to select visitors. In addition to some cool Pax Prime 2012 weapon hangers, the team will be giving away 100 Blacklight: Retribution t-shirts each day.

  • Perfect World Giving Away $1,000 Every Day in Blacklight Retribution

    Perfect World Entertainment has announced an exciting event in their popular free-to-play shooter, Blacklight: Retribution. The 30 Days of Fight event is scheduled to get underway on August 16th, and will see $1,000 in cash prizes being given away every day during the event!

    The system is designed to encourage players to spend a lot of time with Blacklight: Retribution during the event, and there is no limit to how much money one player can win. During the 30 Days of Fight event, players will earn one Fight Ticket for completing any match of Blacklight: Retribution and two Fight Tickets if they win. Think of these Fight Tickets as raffle tickets that you might win at your local fair, except that you have to shoot people in a game to get them.

  • First Look at Netwar, Blacklight Retribution's New Game Mode

    Zombie Studios has done an amazing job showing the gaming community that free to play shooters don't have to be sub par quality. Blacklight Retribution, along with Tribes: Ascend, has illustrated that studios can build AAA-quality shooters without attaching $60 price tags.

    Now, the studio has unveiled a brand new game mode for Blacklight Retribution called Netwar. This game mode features one of the largest Blacklight maps to date, and leans heavily on team actions and strategy. In Netwar, players battle to control sections on the map and also to capture a flag that spawns in the middle of the map. The only way you can capture that flag, however, is to control at least one of the four capture points on the map.
