Excerpt from Rook Island Tourism Board pamphlet:

The Rook Islands boasts a wide array of tourist attractions, including natural wildlife observation (don't forget to bring your camera, you'll want to Instagram these photos for sure!). Note that there is currently no cell phone service on the Islands as our wireless tower was recently overrun and all of its operators killed and thrown into the watery depths of the Pacific Ocean (a great place to take the family for a swim this time of year, the water's great!)

To help travelers acquaint themselves with the wildlife, that will ultimately try and kill you, our team has put together a handy 'Animal Lover's Guide to Far Cry 3'. There is a wealth of creatures inhabiting the islands, including bears, wild dogs, deer, tapir, leopards, sharks and so much more. If one should keep their distance from these animals, you may even come out of these wildlife encounters unscathed! Please do not feed the animals, as they rely exclusively on a diet of stray travelers natural prey according to their status as bloodthirsty monsters on the foodchain.

Small Kiwi, one of our veteran first-person shooter aficionado's, has put together his end of the year 'best of' list, looking back at some of the best first-person shooters of 2012.

Kiwi examined his favorite shooters of the year and was able to whittle the list down to just 5, but it wasn't easy. Everyone has their own take on what should rank in the top 5, and we want to hear yours! Far Cry 3's map editor is a wonderful tool, allowing players to create their own multiplayer maps and share them online with ease. What is just as exciting is seeing players recreate classic multiplayer maps from other games in Fary Cry 3's map tool.

A prime example of this is shadowzack's recreation of Wake Island, one of the all-time great multiplayer maps from the Battlefield franchise. Wake Island has been playable in no less than three separate Battlefield titles, including the beloved Battlefield: 1942.

In another great video from YouTube user Beausafk today, we're taking a look at the 1911 handgun in Far Cry 3 and how you can use it to your advantage when hunting.

Hunting is a brand new feature in Far Cry 3, not previously available in the franchise. Players are able to hunt game and use the resources gained from doing so to craft useful items, including storage options for your weapons and ammunition (a must!).

In the video above, Beau illustrates the the 1911 isn't exactly your must-have weapon when it comes to hunting tigers. Or anything else, really. It's a good starter weapon but you're going to want to pick something else up at your soonest convenience if you plan on hunting regularly (which you should!).

YouTube user Beausafk brings us another great guide, this time in the world of Far Cry 3 and regarding the use of stealth.

Getting stealth kills, as Beau points out, is not the most challenging thing in the world but can be incredibly satisfying and a lot of fun. In the video above, he shows us how to get easy kills using stealth takedowns. This is not only a ton of fun to do, but preserves your ammunition which can be scarce in Far Cry 3.

As Beau illustrates, using rocks to lure the enemy towards him while separating him from his partner. This makes stealth kills possible, as it would be impossible to take them both down silently if approached by them at the same time. Check out the video above!

In our debut Far Cry 3 video, James gives us some much needed tips on how to hunt game in the most efficient and beneficial way.

With grenades.

The art of Grenade Hunting is a practice that we don't think gets enough credit. When you're looking to take down some big game in the jungles of Far Cry 3, you may try to do it with a traditional weapon. And the animal may laugh in your face as it runs away from harm, unscathed.

A well placed grenade, however, will provide guaranteed results, 100% of the time (that you are not facing off against a turtle).

When Ubisoft began production on Far Cry 3, they realized that some of their characters were going to be so out there, so very much off the deep end, that they would need some pretty talented actors to handle the voices of these characters.

They found them.

In this video, Ubisoft shows us Doctor Earnhardt in real life. Starring the voice actor who delivers Earnhardt's lines in the game, this live-action trailer of sorts gives you a look at what Earnhardt would look like in real life.

Staying in character, the actor delivers some lines right from the script in Far Cry 3.
