Violence in video games is without a doubt the biggest issue that our industry - and this genre in particular - faces at the moment. With horrifying tragedies of wanton gun violence cropping up in the headlines on a weekly basis, everyone needs a scapegoat. The finger of blame has to point somewhere, so why not at video games?
To make things more complicated, games are becoming increasingly more violent, it seems. While you do have games like ShootMania Storm that take a much milder approach to first-person shooters, you also end up with games like BioShock Infinite, the subject of this video. Are violent video games to blame for these atrocities being committed every week around the world?
Or are they simply the easiest place to lay the blame?
Our own Crazy Penguin was on hand for the Call of Duty: Championship in LA, and loved it! He got to see a ton of other YouTubers while he was there and above all else, really enjoyed the event.
If you didn't see the finals, we can't stress enough how great it actually was. Take the time, go watch it. Grab the link below.

Not too long ago, we gathered up the staff and put together some individual lists of our favorite free to play shooters.
We quickly realized that our lists were very diverse and unique from each other, with everyone having their preferred games. Some games, however, tended to show up on more than one list. In that spirit, we compiled a Top 5 list video that averages out some of the games that showed up on our lists.

And yes, that is Rihanna. And no, we don't know why either.
In Watch Dogs, Aiden Pearce - the player character - has the power to control the world at his fingertips, quite literally.
Having successfully hacked into Chicago's Central Operating System, or ctOS, Pearce can control everything from trains to stop lights, making him effectively the most powerful man int he Windy City.
Take a look at the latest feature video for Watch Dogs, showing off the power that the player will have when Watch Dogs launches on next generation platforms.

James is on hand at PAX East in Boston, grabbing up developers and publishers to talk about their latest games and projects.
In this interview, learn what Dead Island Riptide does differently from the original game and how Deep Silver decided to address the sequel. Dead Island was a lot of fun and we're definitely excited for the follow up later this year.

Recorded this weekend at PAX East in Boston, MA, we managed to grab an interview with some of the folks working on Dishonored.
Bethesda announced last week the Knife of Dunwall DLC that will put players in the shoes of one of the most feared assassins in all of Dunwall. This assassin is none other than Daud, the man responsible for slaying the Empress of Dunwall that led Corvo on his journey in the core story of Dishonored.

We're getting some incredibly good-looking and quality first-person shooters on smaller devices these days. The only problem is that, pretty much 100% of the time, the control scheme sucks and they aren't fun to play at all. Shooters are too complex for two invisible thumb-sticks and a gamepad on the touchscreen.
Enter the MOGA.
The MOGA allows you to snap in your smartphone and play your games with a full sized game pad, completely with all of the buttons, triggers and thumbsticks that you would expect from an Xbox 360 controller or any other modern gamepad.
This weekend at PAX, James had a chance to talk with Sal of MOGA to discuss the device.
Nvidia has released a brand new trailer for PlanetSide 2, showing off the PhysX enhancements that the game recently received.
Today, we're proud to announce that Sony Online Entertainment's battlegrounds have been upgraded and enhanced with the addition of hardware-accelerated PhysX effects that increase the realism and fidelity of several game elements, adding to the spectacle and drawing you deeper into the action.
Particle PhysX effects provide a more immersive experience for the game by adding particles that collide with the environment and litter the environment during battles.

Earlier this month, we had the chance to check out Sanctum 2 in person and were able to grab Ted to talk about the game. In the interview, which you can watch above, we bring you some brand new gameplay as well as some insight from Ted about the changes coming to Sanctum 2 and what fans of the first game expect in the next installment.
The Sanctum franchise is basically the only place you're going to get a tower-defense/first-person shooter hybrid of gameplay.
EA and DICE have released the first teaser trailer for Battlefield 4, and this one sure lives up to the name 'teaser.'
Essentially, all we see is the treads of a tank spinning up before the teaser tagline 'Prepare 4 Battle' appears with the promise of more information on March 27th, as previously reported. Stay tuned next week as we'll be on hand at the Battlefield 4 event for whatever goes down!
Celebrate the launch of The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct with the brand new launch trailer.
The game, which features Merle and Daryl Dixon from the hit AMC series The Walking Dead, hits shelves on Tuesday, March 19th. Survival Instinct has been in development at Terminal Reality for a while now and while Activision has been relatively quiet about the game, we're curious to see what it has to offer.
We love the world of The Walking Dead and can't wait to bring you some more hands-on coverage this week!
Go behind the scenes with Daryl and Merle Dixon - scratch that, make that Derle and Merle Dixon on The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.
It is neat to see Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker talking about the game. The actors seem genuinely thrilled to be a part of the game, which is pretty awesome and makes us hopeful that the game is more than a cheesy tie-in. More often than not, these licensed games are little more than a way to make bags of cash for the publisher and license holder.
The game launches on Tuesday, March 19th on Xbox 360, PC and Wii U.
Take a look at the combat in BioShock Infinite's 'False Shepherd' trailer, released just a couple weeks shy of the big launch.
BioShock, as a franchise, has had some of the most creative and enjoyable weapons both physical and supernatural and Infinite is looking to continue that trend.
BioShock Infinite puts players in the shoes of U.S. Cavalry veteran turned hired gun, Booker DeWitt. Indebted to the wrong people and with his life on the line, DeWitt has only one opportunity to wipe his slate clean.
He's one man, alone. And the followers of the Prophet Father Comstock will stop at nothing to keep Booker from his Quarry. But with an arsenal of weapons and the incredible powers granted by Vigors, Booker deals death from above on the Sky-Lines of Columbia.
And the girl he's there to rescue might turn out to be the partner he needs to survive.
